TRAILER: Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited console release only a month away

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited has taken its sweet time getting to consoles, so much so we’d almost forgotten about it. But on June 9th the online RPG will finally arrive on Xbox One and PS4 and this new trailer has certainly rekindled our interest here at Dealspwn.

A while back, Bethesda made the wise decision to drop monthly subscription fees which could be a mega boost for sales on consoles and we’ve already seen it prove to be a popular move with the PC version. This new trailer is a newbie-friendly introduction to some of the things you’ll be able to do in the game. It’s one hell of an appetiser really. Fantasy RPG fans are enjoying a great flow of titles lately with Dragon Age: Inquisition over Christmas, The Witcher III soon and now an online title to get stuck into with friends. Take a look at the trailer and let us know if you’re tempted. We’d love to hear from those of your already playing the PC game too. You’ll also find links to the best prices after the break.

You may still be able to download Silent Hills P.T. despite its removal from PSN

The P.T. Silent Hills teaser demo has now been deleted from PSN stores worldwide. Already, we’ve seen a few cheeky gamers put their PS4s with the demo installed on eBay for prices upwards of £1000. And who can blame them? Many people made quite a bit of money by doing the very same thing with their mobile phones when Flappy Bird was originally taken offline. We don’t think P.T. will be coming back though. However, there is a chance that you can still download it.

Many of us download any freebie we can get our hands on. And PlayStation + subscribers may certainly have a full hard-drive by now. Chances are you downloaded P.T. at launch, then deleted it before you got time to play it in order to free up some space or just generally tidy up your PS4’s dashboard. Well, you’re in luck if you still want to play P.T. and sample what we’re all going to be missing out on since the cancellation of Silent Hills. PlayStation + May 2015 games are…

This month’s selection for the PlayStation + Instant Game Collection has just been announced. We have to say, we’re a little disappointed that they don’t match the ‘leaked’ ones from a German site a few days ago. Another month goes by where I don’t get a free copy of Knack. That’s probably for the best though, as there are some decent titles to choose from this month, along with a few that you may not have heard of before.

Here’s what’s coming on May 6th with our review hyperlinked in where applicable: Continue reading PlayStation + May 2015 games are…

Just Cause 3 trailer is suitably insane

Here it is folks, leaked a few hours earlier than we were expecting, the first proper gameplay trailer for Just Cause 3. It certainly doesn’t disappoint and is packed with that wonderful grappling hook, ridiculously dangerous attitudes to vehicle safety and more explosions than a Michael Bay montage. In short, it looks like the most fun game of 2015. Take a peek and see for yourselves.

Also, stay tuned to Dealspwn as I’ll be bringing you a feature article later today on some of the finer points that’ll have you wanting Just Cause 3 even sooner. Continue reading Just Cause 3 trailer is suitably insane

Call of Duty: Black Ops III gets ridiculously fun trailer

The brand new gameplay debut trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III from Treyarch just landed and it’s pretty damn awesome if we’re honest.

You’ll have fun spotting some of the ‘influences’ from other hit games. So far we can see reminders of the likes of Vanquish, Titanfall, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Binary Domain and wait,,, Haze? We can’t wait to get our hands on the game as it looks set to continue in a similar manner to the highly enjoyable Advanced Warfare, despite development reverting back to Treyarch.

We didn’t see exo-suits, but enhanced movement like speed thrusts, wall-running and knee slides certainly seem to be in. Along with Deus Ex-style upgrades and robotic enemies and mechs as seen in the likes of Vanquish and Binary Domain. We’re certainly not complaining, mash up all these influences and you have the potential for a fantastic shooter. Advanced Warfare was the boot up the arse the series needed and Black Ops III looks like it may speed things up even more. We most certainly approve. Star Wars: Battlefront trailer shows gorgeous ‘in-engine’ footage

It’s been a great day for Star Wars fans as many of us had breakfast while hitting repeat on the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, and now we have the first proper trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront. It looks like we’ll get to play the game before the new movie too as EA announced a November 20th release date in the UK and November 17th in US for the game PS4, Xbox one and PC.

If you’ve missed out on earlier details on Star Wars: Battlefront, we’ll catch you up before you watch the trailer below. Up to 40 players will do battle as two teams across famous environments of the original Star Wars trilogy. Players will be able to switch between first and third-person perspectives while on foot or when controlling vehicles. Oh yes, those iconic vehicles like AT-ATs, X-Wings, speeder bikes and more are back and set to be ridiculous amounts of fun. There will also be hero/villain gameplay opportunities where players will get to control legendary characters like Darth Vadar and walk around the Battlefield with almost godlike powers.

Sounds almost perfect, but we’re a little disappointed that there will be no space battles (local atmosphere aerial battles are still a thing). Being able to go from the battlefield to space in one fight would have been great though, and we were kind of expecting it as a next-gen feature to be honest. DICE General Manager Patrick Bach told IGN: “The core of Star Wars battles — the Endors, the Hoths, et cetera — you want to take that to perfection. You want to do it right. Space is hard, right? Not from a [development] perspective, but from a logistical perspective. Is that fun? For us it doesn’t make sense to create a battle above you if you’re fighting other players who are not there to fight. Our focus is to do planetary battles.” We’re not entirely sold on that excuse, but given how poorly DICE’s choppers handle in Battlefield 3 and 4, we might be better off. Anyway, aren’t you the best for reading through all this first? Enjoy the trailer!

Ultra Street Fighter IV dated and priced for PS4 release

Sony have just posted on their US blog, that they’re ‘aiming’ for a May 26th release date for Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 in the US and Europe. Fingers crossed they make the date as we’re pretty pumped for a new version of Street Fighter IV.

You’d think that after multiple re-releases, we’d be burnt out on Capcom’s series, but no. This new version will contain all of the extra costume DLC, all the extra characters and all stages released from every version of SFIV. Better yet, this version will also include five new characters and six new stages. The input lag noticed by some players of Ultra SFIVC on PS3 has also been fixed. The Omega Mode where all the character balances are nerfed will also make an appearance. Best of all though is the price. Continue reading Ultra Street Fighter IV dated and priced for PS4 release

Godzilla gameplay trailer hits downtown

Want to see what Godzilla looks like on PS4? Then you’re in the right place as we have a new gameplay trailer, showing off multiple monsters going at it from Godzilla’s long movie history. You might not know it from the trailer, but this is a full-priced release coming to PS3 and PS4 in July. Call me skeptical, but if we questioned whether Evovle was worth £40, Godzilla is certainly facing a uphill struggle. That said, if this summer is anything like last year, we’ll be desperate for any new game. There, and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to say anything nice.

Stay tuned to Dealspwn.com as Jon went to a preview day at Bandai Namco recently and got his mitts on it.  Take a look at the trailer below and see the King of Monsters in action. Continue reading Godzilla gameplay trailer hits downtown

Destiny: House of Wolves debut trailer is live

Destiny fans can finally see the new House of Wolves expansion DLC in action thanks to a new trailer that’s just hit the net. Bungie and Activision are going head-to-head with The Witcher III though with a May 19th release date.

With Bungie’s DLC being of seriously questionable value so far, it seems nuts to go up against a game that gamers have been chomping at the bit for. The Witcher III is set to offer 200 hours of missions no less. While House of Wolves will cost £19.99 (also a part of the Season Pass) and possibly last a night or two -aside from repeating farming and grinding, naturally. Unless you already own the Season Pass, we’d say wait for the reviews to see if Bungie learned from their past mistakes with The Dark Below. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided official reveal trailer

Well folks, after a rather clumsy ‘reveal’ from Square Enix, where details leaked out during the rather boring multi-day Twitch broadcast, we have the first trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Now, wouldn’t that have just been easier rather than whatever was happening with Twitch, where everyone guessed it was going to be a new Deus Ex title anyway?

To be honest, we’re still massively excited as we were beginning to fear it might be another mobile/tablet game rather than a PC and new-gen console title. Although, a Kane & Lynch match-three game would have been bad-ass. Anyways, enough chit-chat, let’s take a look at what Adam Jensen is getting up to and when you’re done, be sure to read Jon’s newest article What we want from Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – better graphics are just the start. Batman: Arkham Knight delayed again, but here’s a new trailer

Batman: Arkham Knight has suffered yet another delay. Instead of releasing June 6th, you’ll now have to wait until June 23rd. It’s not the longest of delays (Uncharted 4 has hurt us the most in recent weeks) and we’re glad that Rocksteady is waiting until they decide the game is ready if we’re honest.

Arkham Knight is looking fantastic so far and Warner Bros has released a new trailer called ‘Officer Down’ to ensure our appetite doesn’t diminish while we wait. Enjoy the video below to see a fresh seven minutes of gameplay. After that, take a look at our hot pre-order offers, where you can reserve a PS4 or XO copy from as little as £37.99. Blood Bowl II gameplay trailer hits the field. Hard.

Heads up, meatbags! We finally have a gameplay video for Cyanide Studio’s Blood bowl 2, which is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One soon. The video shows an Orc team defending their lines against the human-led, Reikland Raiders. We say humans, but they seem to have recruited an Ogre too!

Blood Bowl 2 is a much more tactical sports game, with a turn-based style that oddly suits the NFL-inspired sport, which is very stop/start in nature too. So expect to see some on-screen dice rolling to determine outcomes of plays. On the plus side, you’ll get the option to re-roll sometimes when your fat-handed orc fumbles it.

With NFL becoming more and more popular outside of the USA, we’re looking forwards to this one, especially seeing as it swaps out the mind-boggling data pile of stats and try-hard tattoos for spikes, vicious violence and all our favourite Games Workshop Warhammer races like orcs, dark elves, dwarves, chaos, skaven and more. Blood Bowl II is the first time the series has come to consoles in a long-time too, which should widen up the player-base more than ever.

We’ve got our fingers crossed for this one.

Want to know more? Well, we have a Blood Bowl II preview and an interview for you. There’s also a tonne of information on the game’s official website.

Battlefield: Hardline suffering installation issues on PS4

Gamers who have purchased the digital version of Battlefield: Hardline on PS4 are reporting issues for the game’s installation in-game. Once the game has downloaded from the store and the latest software patch has been installed, gamers are able to start the game as per normal. Once games are downloaded from PSN, they install automatically on the main menu usually.

However, that’s not the end of the installation for Battlefield: Hardline. My own experience so far with a digital copy has been matched with multiple reports appearing online right now. On the game’s main menu, they are seeing a screen like the one below. Multiplayer does not appear yet and only Episodes are selectable. Diving in, I found I was able to play the brief prologue level before being kicked back to the menu as the rest of the game has yet to be ‘installed’.

It’s odd that an install is taking place in game and there doesn’t seem to be anything else downloading, not on the PS4’s download list anyway. After staring at the screen for a few minutes and not seeing the % go up at all, I decided to leave it be and come back in 30 minutes. An hour later and it had only gone up an additional 3%.  Continue reading Battlefield: Hardline suffering installation issues on PS4

Uncharted 4 delay paints a tough Christmas for PS4 this year

So, Uncharted 4 has been pushed back to Spring 2016. As news goes for PS4 gamers, it’s pretty damn heartbreaking. But delays aren’t always a bad thing for a game. We’ve had enough of unfinished releases like AC: Unity and DriveClub, and are trying to be as patient as possible for the likes of Batman: Arkham Knight and The Witcher III, both of which have needed more time before the developers have been ready to unleash them. And major kudos to them for that and as much as it pains me to say it, Kudos to Naughty Dog too.

It’s time developers finally left ‘last-gen’ behind

Last week we learned that the upcoming Mad Max game has had its last-gen platform versions cancelled for the PS3 and Xbox 360. This makes enormous sense to us and we think it’s time developers of full-sized games started to make this their norm. It’s time for them to say goodbye to last-gen and the PS3 and Xbox 360.

We’ve seen too many games suffer during development due to resources being stretched during cross-generational development. To be honest, we’ve seen it since the PS4/XO launch, with titles likes Need for Speed Rivals. There was barely any difference between the two visuals-wise and the next-gen version of the game felt like it was held back by having to maintain values with its chugging twin. But one of them was £10-£20 more expensive. At least you can get it cheaper nowadays.

Mortal Kombat X story trailer – Adding sense to the violence?

Check out the brand new story trailer for Mortal Kombat X one of our most eagerly awaited titles of 2015. Just like the studio’s last game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, the story will see you controlling multiple characters which is a great way to try out a wide variety of the roster rather than settling on an old favourite for the entire game.

The story will take place over a period of twenty years, so prepare for some epic scenes and find out why everyone’s so keen to get their hands on that stone. The trailer also promotes the exclusive special edition at Game where you’ll get Goro as a playable character for £47.99 (ouch indeed).

Or you could order at these much cheaper prices below. Stay tuned to our game deals page for regular discount on the hottest games.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Review)

Call-of-Duty-Advanced-Warfare-PS4Before Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare landed on our doormats, this has been a year to remember for the first person shooter. The likes of Titanfall and Destiny have made vital efforts to push the envelope in terms of what we can expect from a shooter.

Titanfall has been a fun-packed title with awesome mechs, jetpack parkour and some decent DLC, despite server issues that made the early months a little rough. And Destiny, well the jury’s still out a little there as Bungie’s MMOFPS has been a little light on content for many gamers, but there’s a solid foundation. It’s been a year where developers have attempted to shake things up, and for that they should be applauded. And let’s face it, the sequels could be incredible if they take the feedback on board.

Sony let the Vita and Move die. Is Project Morpheus already doomed?

Sony let the Vita and Move die. Is Project Morpheus already doomed?

As gamers, we really hope VR takes off. Oculus Rift has impressed us since we first put the virtual reality headset on and back in March, Sony announced Project Morpheus, their own brand of VR headset that would let PS4 gamers to get involved. Which, speaking as a non PC gamer, was music to my ears as I was getting dangerously close to investing in a rig so I could play with an Oculus Rift.

But is Project Morpheus doomed to follow the disturbing pattern Sony has dragged itself through over the last few years? The main PlayStation consoles have been huge successes of course; I’m talking about the state of affairs for the PS Move controllers and the PS Vita.

Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty (Review)

Abe’s Oddysee was a big hit for PS1 gamers back in the day with impressive pre-rendered backgrounds making the game one of the best looking 2D platformers ever made. It was also an absolute beast of a meanie to play. Nevertheless, when we heard Just Add Water were remaking the game with the Unity engine we couldn’t wait to see how well the game had aged. Not so sure about the name change though.

For the most part, the game is the same as the original. The action still takes place on a 2D plane and the level layouts haven’t been changed. However, some sensible changes have been implemented, and for the better too. Continue reading Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty (Review)
