You may still be able to download Silent Hills P.T. despite its removal from PSN

The P.T. Silent Hills teaser demo has now been deleted from PSN stores worldwide. Already, we’ve seen a few cheeky gamers put their PS4s with the demo installed on eBay for prices upwards of £1000. And who can blame them? Many people made quite a bit of money by doing the very same thing with their mobile phones when Flappy Bird was originally taken offline. We don’t think P.T. will be coming back though. However, there is a chance that you can still download it.

Many of us download any freebie we can get our hands on. And PlayStation + subscribers may certainly have a full hard-drive by now. Chances are you downloaded P.T. at launch, then deleted it before you got time to play it in order to free up some space or just generally tidy up your PS4’s dashboard. Well, you’re in luck if you still want to play P.T. and sample what we’re all going to be missing out on since the cancellation of Silent Hills. Metal Gear Solid 5: Making Quiet 3D Scan Video

Konami have released a new video showing behind the scenes footage of the 3D facial scans and motion capture for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, featuring Stefanie Joosten, the actress playing Quiet.

It’s been a somewhat strange week in the new news as Hideo Kojima’s been tweeting about making characters more ‘erotic’ (later changed to ‘sexy’) for marketing purposes. This video featuring new character, Quiet, seems to be acting as damage control. There’s no dev speak in it, just a soulful backing track that may as well be saying “See, we’re not just obsessed with cleavage!”

It’s worth a watch to see the imposing number of cameras the acting talent face for a 3D scan of their faces. The detail we’ve seen so far is undeniably impressive, making that wait for next-gen MGS all the harder to endure. Hopefully, by then Kojima and Suda51 will have stopped their body swap experiment. Jack Bauer Rescues Snake in Metal Gear Solid V Gameplay Trailer?

Here’s a six-minute gameplay from what we’re presuming is the opening stage of Metal Gear Solid V. While there’s no official confirmation of the voice actor of the man leading Snake to safety, any fan of 24 should have no problem detecting the voice of Kiefer Sutherland.

The video shows snake having just awoken from his nine-year coma, which would explain why he’s having to crawl, as his legs haven’t quite woken up yet. The tapping noise his prosthetic arm makes on the hard floor is so awkward it’s unbelievable, it’s borderline unwatchable. The bum-crack shots of the guy ahead of Snake in his hospital gown are a bit much too.

We don’t see snake at his stealthy best here, he’s falling all over the place and knocking over bins like a drunken hobo but we’re sure he’ll be on his feet and snapping necks in no time. There are some cool cameos from past villains to enjoy, like a flaming Volgin and what may be a very young Psycho Mantis.

David Hayter Won’t Star in Metal Gear Solid V

Fan favourite voice actor, David Hayter, won’t be reprising his role as the voice of Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V. That’s the official word from Hideo Kojima himself, who told Gametrailers, “What we’re trying to accomplish here is [to] recreate the Metal Gear series. It’s a new type of Metal Gear game and we want to have this reflected in the voice actor as well.”

Controversial stuff from the maestro, especially given that he was lucky to get away with sneakily ditching Snake for Raiden in Metal Gear solid 2 which many fans still feel sore about. Continue reading David Hayter Won’t Star in Metal Gear Solid V

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Trailer Sneaks In

It’s Metal Gear, so forget any notions of a twenty second teaser video, here’s nearly 11 minutes to shove your face into. You’ll get to see cutscenes and a bit of gameplay too. The FOX Engine is looking pretty damn good as we see snake infiltrate a base in a rainy night. Nobody seems to have told Konami that this generation’s hardware is on its last legs.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (Review)

If you only buy one HD collection this year, make sure it’s this one. Pretenders to the stealth genre have come and gone over the years, but the Metal Gear Solid series has outlasted them all and with good reason.

This collection includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of LibertyMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and the PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Yes, that leaves one glaring omission, the original PS1 Metal Gear Solid. Considering it was remade for the GameCube, it’s a missed opportunity. However, we expect it will get its own release soon. Considering the quality that we do get in this collection though, it’s hard to stay mad for long.
