Street Fighter V Laura trailer and new beta dates

Crikey, talk about a ‘reveal’ trailer. Laura was unofficial unveiled as a brand new Street Fighter V character a few days ago, but today we can bring you her actual gameplay footage. One look at her in action and we’re certainly thinking she’ll be replacing Blanka on the day one roster. While her style is a bit faster than the green man-beast, her use of electric shock moves and a Blanka-esque roll move incorporated into her V-Trigger finisher makes us think Capcom have fallen for their own Brazilian bombshell over him. Not that he couldn’t appear as an unlockable character post-launch. Continue reading Street Fighter V Laura trailer and new beta dates

Primal Carnage: Extinction coming to PS4 this month

Originally intended to be a PS4 launch title, it’s fair to say we may have forgotten about this one. The single-player ambitions have been scrapped in favour of an online multiplayer-only FPS title, that still looks like it could be fun.

Primal Carnage: Extinction puts the dinosaurs against the humans in online arenas. There’s a trailer for you after the break, which in all honesty makes the game look like the dinos are going to struggle against the humans’ firepower. Look out for the game on PSN from October 20th. Continue reading Primal Carnage: Extinction coming to PS4 this month

Zangief and Laura added to Street Fighter V roster

Zangief is now officially coming to Street Fighter V and even has a new trailer. That’s not much of a surprise, but the leaked images of a new character certainly are. While yet to be officially announced via a trailer, expect to see Laura in action very soon if these leaked images are anything to go by.

Coming from Famitsu (via Event Hubs) the new leaked screens show the new fighter giving Ryu a beat of a beating. If rumours are to be believed. Laura is a Brazilian fighter and harnesses electrical abilities similar to Blanka. Does this mean the green man beast has been replaced in Street Fighter V?

You can see some more Laura screens and the Zangief trailer below. Continue reading Zangief and Laura added to Street Fighter V roster

Tales of Zestiria gets combat-packed trailer

Tales of Zestiria isn’t far away now, and this new trailer is packed with battle scenes. The Tales of games are more action-orientated than most JRPGs, but they’re far from simple. Once you get rolling though, the fluid moves are a lot of fun, as I found when reviewing Tales of Xillia.

It’s great to see a trailer show so much gameplay, instead of random story points that have no meaning without the context (like most JRPG trailers). Take a look, and if you like what you see, how about one of these cheap Tales of Zestiria PS3 or PS4 preorders? Continue reading Tales of Zestiria gets combat-packed trailer

Massive GTA Online Freemode update now live

Still playing Grand Theft Auto V online? Well, if you’re playing on PS4, Xbox One or PC, prepare for a massive update to the Freemode Events via Rockstar’s latest content drop. Sadly, last-gen versions won’t be getting this new content. Actually they won’t be getting anything else again, which is makes that STILL high-price of the new-gen version all the more annoying.

There’s a full rundown courtesy of Rockstar’s newswire below. But there’s also a trailer if you just want to see some of it in action. Continue reading Massive GTA Online Freemode update now live

Resident Evil Umbrella Corp coming to PS4 and PC in 2016

Our prayers were answered recently, when Capcom finally announced that Resident Evil 2 would be getting the remake treatment. Oh, how we celebrated the good times. So what next for the series? Surely Resident Evil 7? Nope, step forward Resident Evil Umbrella Corp, a competitive online shooter for PS4 and PC.

Can’t saw I saw that coming. The Resi series doesn’t have the best track record for spinoffs, especially the Online series. But the co-op modes in Revelations 2 were fun, so we’ll give this one the benefit of the doubt for now. The game will be released at a budget price of £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99. There’s even a trailer for you to take a look at and see for yourself. Perception stat explained in Fallout 4 trailer

Last week we had the Strength Fallout 4 infomercial and this week it’s time to look at the world of Perception. This retro-styled video explains how Perception fits into your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. statistical makeup.

For example, the higher your perception skill, the better your VATS accuracy will work again all those ‘post-nuclear nuisances’. Stealing and other forms of sneakery will also benefit. Continue reading Perception stat explained in Fallout 4 trailer

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC trailer

Finished Bloodborne? Well, if somehow you’ve managed to master those Chalice Dungeons and struggle through ‘the choice’ at the game’s finale, you may be thirsty for more. More crushing defeat and agonising, torturous cruelty that only From Software are capable of inflicting. The new trailer was shown today during Sony’s presser at the Tokyo Game Show. We know it’s coming November 24th, and will be priced £11.99.  Continue reading Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC trailer

Watch Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference here

Getting up early tomorrow morning (September 15th)? Well, while you’re having breakfast, you should watch Sony’s press conference live from the Tokyo Game Show. We promise it’ll be better than breakfast TV. I mean, how could it not be?

The show starts at 8am and while we expect most of it to be in Japanese, this stream will be subtitled. We received an early rundown of the PS4 and PS Vita games that will be showcased at the expo earlier this month, so we expect some of them to take up some stage time. We’re hoping for a few surprise reveals and hopefully some more footage on The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2 too. Continue reading Watch Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference here

Hardware: Rivals makes PS4 comeback

Those of you that forked out for a network adapter for your original PS2 may well remember the online vehicular combat game, Hardware: Online Arena. Well, good news if you enjoyed it, as it’s getting a sequel on PS4. Step forward, Hardware: Rivals.

13 years is one hell of a wait for sequel, but at least there will be more than five people online at the same time to play it. The vehicular combat arena genre has all but disappeared of late, probably due to the last Twisted Metal game being utter balls. Hell, you can see that for yourself as the game is currently on the PlayStation + Instant Game Selection. One look at the trailer below tells us Hardware: Rivals could actually be a lot of fun though. Continue reading Hardware: Rivals makes PS4 comeback

Monsters await in new SOMA trailer

SOMA’s September 22nd release date is edging towards us on PS4 and PC. From the looks of this new trailer, there are plenty of nasty creatures in the shadows making their way through the shadows too.

Seeing as SOMA is coming from Frictional Games, the studio behind Amnesia, we’re expecting a thoroughly nerve-shredding experience. SOMA is set under the sea in an apparently abandoned facility. Is it abandoned, or did everyone just get eaten by the things stalking those dark corridors? We’re going for the latter. If you enjoyed the terrifying, defenceless gameplay of Alien: Isolation, you’ll certainly want to check this out. Continue reading Monsters await in new SOMA trailer

Fallout 4 gets a new Strength infomercial

Those classic retro infomercials are back folks. This looks like one of the tutorial videos you’ll be seeing in Fallout 4 come November. In the game, you’ll be upgrading each of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats. S stands for strength and this handy video tells you why you’ll want to upgrade it if you’re going to survive in the wastelands.

Speaking of Fallout 4, be sure to check out today’s feature article: Are Fallout 4 and Witcher III a turning point for Season Passes? The new trailer can be found below. Continue reading Fallout 4 gets a new Strength infomercial

FIFA 16 is hurtling towards its September 24th release date and it’s looking like one of the best entries for a while, with multiple improvements to shout about. This latest trailer tells us about the new features you’ll find in the career mode, which loyal fans will appreciate and lapsed players may find an excuse to dive back into EA’s best-selling soccer sim. Look out for our link to the latest cheap PS4 and Xbox One FIFA 16 preorders below the video too. Continue reading FIFA 16 Career Mode trailer shows off new features

Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2015 lineup revealed

The Tokyo Game Show is a few short weeks away now and we’ve received word of the titles Sony will be showcasing at the Japanese expo during September 17th-20th. These are mainly Sony titles, but there are a few third-party appearances from the likes of Capcom , Konami, Square Enix, Bandai Namco and Atlus.

Expect a few surprises during the event too. We’re hoping Gravity Rush 2 shows some signs of life at least. The Vita lineup is predictably sparse at the moment and it’s more likely that game will make it to PS4 at this stage. Sony’s on-stage presentation will take place a few days earlier on the 15th and we’ll provide updates on the latest news from Tokyo. Continue reading Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2015 lineup revealed

So it’s fantastic news that you’ll be able to play the game for free for a few days this weekend. Continue reading Play Evolve for free this weekend
