Two whole months to go until Far Cry 3 is released and each trailer just makes the wait even worse. This new video introduces us to Buck, an Aussie nutcase that we get the feeling may even turn out to be worse than Vaas. The action shows us more tantalising glimpses of the island from land, sea and air. With the environments looking as gorgeous as they are, we’re hoping the game will start a trend for not basing your game in industrial estates and office blocks. More trees, more beaches, more sun and definitely more tigers in everything from now on please. Continue reading New Far Cry 3 Savages Trailer Increases ‘Want’ Factor
Fans of old-school scrolling beat ‘em ups should fix their eyes all over this new Code of Princess trailer. Featuring some terrific-looking action that’s very reminiscent of games like Guardian Heroes, this melee combat-heavy RPG is coming out October 10th in North America. Sadly, no date has been confirmed yet for Europe, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for you. Continue reading Code Of Princess Trailer For The 3DS
That’s right folks we have another Dead or Alive game, so here’s another boob-related story. At least Tecmo Koei hasn’t stuck a pair on a wall to advertise the game this time (see video below). In an interview with Gamasutra, game director, Yohei Shimbori reveals that his studio was initially told by their overseas offices to tone down the sexualised characters in Dead or Alive 5.
This created a backlash though when fans played a demo of the game bundled with Ninja Gaiden 3. Shimbori said, “We actually got a lot of feedback from people who were playing it, saying, ‘We want bigger breasts. Make the characters more like that.’ That was kind of surprising.” Continue reading Bigger Breasts Demanded By Dead Or Alive Fans
Popular PSN RPG, Rainbow Moon, will be released on PS Vita next year. Publisher eastasiasoft have just announced the news and Marcus Pukropski, CEO of the game’s developers, SideQuest Studios said, “We’ve been asked this question many times, I’m so very happy to finally announce that we will bring Rainbow Moon to the PS Vita. All the feedback we have received for Rainbow Moon during the last few months has been tremendous, and I hope that today’s announcement will make a lot of PS Vita owners and Rainbow Moon fans happy.” Continue reading Rainbow Moon Heading to Vita In 2013
EA have once again decided to cancel development of their latest NBA title, NBA Live 13. Originally planned for an October release, the news is sudden to say the least. The decision was made due to the game not meeting EA’s required standards. Considering the strong competition coming from 2K Sports’ NBA 2K13 it’s perhaps unsurprising that EA don’t want to release a notably under par product.
Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice President of the EA Sports label, released the following statement on the official website: Continue reading NBA Live 13 Cancelled
In a move to get more people into stores, Game are enhancing the digital experience on the high street by providing free access to Wi-Fi service in all of their shops.
A Game app will provide customers with information on products and stores will have QR codes to scan which will link to in-store promotions and products.
Here at Dealspwn we’ve often spoke about how high-street stores need to move towards providing something of a social hub experience, and while there’s no mention of them selling coffee and doughnuts and sticking a few chairs in, we’re liking the new direction the company is heading towards since the new retail boss, Martyn Gibbs, moved in. Continue reading Game Providing Free Wi-Fi In All Stores By Christmas
How has it taken this long? Must surely be the questions on thousands of PC gamer’s lips? Originally released on XBLA in 2008, I thought PS3 gamers had it bad waiting until 2010 to play this little corker.
This old school scrolling beat ‘em up features simple controls and basic levelling up elements, making it very accessible to all gamers. Four-player co-op is just a dream too, not to mention it makes the boss battles less frustrating.
Sony have been way too quiet about the latest Sly Cooper game, but at least some release dates have been squeezed out of them. America will get the game February 5th, while Europe will have to settle for a vague ‘March’ date. Cheers.
We’d like to say that at least the game won’t get lost amidst all the Christmas releases, but so many big titles are going for that tactic now that we’re getting a second glut of games spilling over into the first quarter of 2013.

Live up North and don’t want to get ripped off for a train to London for the Eurogamer Expo? You’ll be glad to hear that a brand new gaming expo is heading to Manchester’s Event City near the Trafford Centre.
Taking place on the 13th and 14th of October, the event will see publishers including the likes of Nintendo, EA, Konami and Namco Bandai bringing their top titles for you to try out on consoles and handhelds. Nintendo have also recently confirmed that they will be bringing the Wii U with them. Continue reading Play Expo Coming To Manchester
Someone at Gearbox Software might be out of a job by Monday morning. The inside cover for Borderlands 2 features an image ridiculously similar to one created by popular UK artist Olly Moss.
Moss is known for designing movie posters for The Dark Knight and Moon amongst others and Resistance 3 on the PS3. He was also commissioned to create some posters for the Star Wars movies for the Mondo art house and it’s one of these images that’s causing the problem.
Ever wondered how Traveller’s Tales would cope when tasked with making a Lego game that didn’t have a huge film license behind it? Better than ever it would seem. This cheesy cops and robbers caper borrows from classic crime movies and looks set to be packed with nods and references to San Francisco-based flicks and the Dirty Harry bit towards the end of the trailer is just one of numerous funny moments during the two-minute peak at the Wii U exclusive.
Characters are fully voiced, just as we recently saw in Lego Batman 2, which will allow for a proper story and will keep the laughs coming throughout. An early look at how the Game Pad will be used shows the player using the screen to scan the TV to look for heat signatures from hiding crims on a sunny rooftop.
Helicopters, ambulances and boats are shown off around the sun kissed city indicating a few extra Civil Servant duties may be on the cards. This might be the closest we get to a Lego GTA game, albeit on the right side of the law. Mind you, what’s that fella doing with a crow bar? Even Lego misbehaves at times it would seem.

We’re already getting used to seeing Wii U versions of existing games that chuck in the odd new mode or control scheme but this new trailer shows off loads of new environments for the upcoming Trine 2: Director’s Cut. We want it now.
The scenes shown in the trailer show desert sandworms, dragons and underground ruins, none of which were included in the original release. The graphics themselves are some of the best we’ve seen on the Wii U console too.
This is only a teaser trailer really, so we don’t get to see how the Wii U’s Game Pad will be used specifically in the game, but we imagine players controlling the wizard will be able to use it to move objects around with the touch-screen while the thief and knight characters are controlled with regular controllers.

The Wii U announcements are coming thick and fast now as momentum builds for the new console. This new trailer shows off various costume changes for the Tekken gang. So far, we’re seeing suits from the Mario, Zelda, Star Fox and Metroid games, with more to surely follow.
The trailer also shows a new Mushroom Battle mode where fighters grow or shrink depending on which power-up they get.

Any self-respecting PS3 FPS fan should already own the last two games so they’ll be glad to hear they don’t have to fork out for the upcoming Killzone Trilogy boxset to play Killzone HD. October 24th will see the first game’s HD makeover hit the European PSN store for £11.99.
Providing 720p visuals and running at 30fps the game will also feature shaper textures. The sound effects have also been given a polish, meaning the weapon fire will tear your room to pieces. The weapons were so much better in the first game thanks to them all featuring secondary fire. The pick of the bunch being the standard Helghast assault rifle that had a single shotgun round, perfect for finishing off Killzone’s notorious bullet sponge enemies. I just can’t wait to get on the giant mounted turret that’s so angry it carries on firing for a few seconds after you’ve released the trigger.
Well, that was close. Crystal Dynamics Brand Director, Karl Stewart told OPM that at one point during the game’s design Lara would use a horse and have a child companion:
“One of the hardest decisions was that we knew we needed to make a change. We looked at all the games that were out at the time, studied them, did research, read reviews. And we realised that we needed to make something new. Some of our soul-searching was about [asking] how we bring Lara to life in a way we’ve never done before. She’s had a personality, but not anything like what we show now with that emotion and intensity. We added a little girl at one stage. She was going to be a companion, a way to show Lara in a different light. We had a horse, too. It was great for her to move around on, but we soon realised that a horse implied ‘open world’, like, ‘Why can’t I gallop around the whole island?’ So the horse had to go.”

The Wii U is coming to a shopping centre or expo near you so you can have a go for yourselves. Having played the new console at E3 and Gamescom and we’d urge you to try it out before splashing the cash on the next-gen machine that’s turning out to be a little bit more expensive than we thought.
Given the public nature of the displays we wouldn’t expect the blood-splattered ZombiU to be there, but titles like Super Mario Bros Wii U and Rayman Legends should be a given. Check out the early online UK prices for Wii U bundles here.
Despite closing nearly half of their stores earlier this year, new GAME Retail CEO Martyn Gibbs says they are planning on opening new stores in an interview with MCV.
“There have been a few closures, but in time there will be some openings as well and there will be a few new stores. We will announce these as we go.”
This may come as surprising news to many people, especially seeing as it was largely acknowledged that the company had too many stores. Take a small city like Preston, three GAME stores and a Gamestation.
As a modern reflection of the digital shift in the games industry, the 30th annual Golden Joystick awards have recently added four new categories.
Best Downloadable Content, Best Mobile/Tablet Game and Best Browser/Flash Game are the new digitally themed categories. The final new entry is Top Gaming Moment; users can click each of the nominated games on the site to see which epic scene has been chosen. It would have been nice to allow users to vote specifically for their own moment, but counting/categorising this would have been a nightmare.

A new developer diary has emerged for the upcoming Lord of the Rings Online DLC, Riders of Rohan. The video shows off an impressive number of gorgeous looking environments, some familiar from the films and others brand new.
Rather than stick to the plains, the Rohan DLC will also allow you to explore Fangorn Forest and the Anduin River. And what better way to explore this new world than with your new customisable horse? Long-time players of the game will also be grateful for the Level Cap increase, which is now at Lv.85.
Check out the video after the jump.
