Killzone: Shadow Fall is looking like the must-have PS4 exclusive on launch day. This new trailer gives us more details on the plot than any of the past videos and it’s shaping up to be very interesting indeed. Series fans will notice a reference to Visari and we’re presuming it’s his daughter who is now leading the Helghast. The game is set 30 years after the original trilogy and finds both sides fighting over the same planet since the destruction of Helghan.
Killzone has never been shy of putting a large emphasis on the story and it feels like Guerrilla Games are gearing up for something epic this time. Fingers crossed Rico won’t be making a cameo though. Don’t forget to check out our multiplayer hands-on report too. Continue reading Killzone: Shadow Fall Story Trailer →

Fast-Tracking to the Big Guns
Guerrilla Games know they’re up against it when competing for our time in the busy arena of FPS multiplayer games. How do you encourage gamers to give you a fair shot when Call of Duty and Battlefield are so dominant? How about unlocking all the core features from the start?
All weapons and class abilities will be available without the usual grinding; enabling you to try everything and discover what combination works best for you. This is a great idea and allows for a more even playing field for newcomers against players that have been living in the servers since launch day.

If you watched Sony’s E3 press conference and were left wanting more after that brief new trailer, then wrap your eyes around this. This new video from IGN shows live gameplay from a forest outside of the walls of the city shown in the original Shadow Fall reveal. Arjan Bak, the game’s Environment Art Director, gives us a commentary throughout, discussing the weapons and the OWL bot that can be used to assist you by distracting the Helghast and hacking computers to cut off enemy reinforcements.
Don’t forget to whack up the YouTube setting to HD for maximum effect. Killzone is not for SD. Fingers crossed Sony’s shooter will be at Gamescom this year as we really want to touch it and whisper things about Halo meaning nothing to us in its ear. No, just me? Ahem, video after the break. You may have already seen the footage from the PS4 reveal this week, if not, you can get up to date here. The previous footage showed what we’re presuming is a chunk of gameplay, more than likely the game’s opening stage. This recut trailer features a voice over that gives us some insight into the attack. It would appear the Helghast people are a bit pissed about the ISA’s revenge attack on their planet and have returned to Vekta for another shot at domination. To be fair, Helghan, you started it.
