Rise and shine soldiers, Activision have dispatched a patch for your PS3 copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Patch 1.03 is aiming to fix the game freezes and connection issues many gamers have been experiencing.
As I mentioned in my review yesterday, I was managing to get into multiplayer matches without issue after struggling for the first half hour at some point on launch day. Zombies mode however greeted me with regular freezes, making it practically impossible to play.
Activision had this to say on their website, “A patch has been released to fix the lock-up/freeze issues affecting Call of Duty: Black Ops II online gameplay on PlayStation 3. Simply boot up Black Ops II and sign in to play online, and the patch will install automatically. Again, we thank you for your patience during this matter.
These issues include but are not limited to:
- Entering a public multiplayer lobby and observing a system lock-up
- Entering a public multiplayer lobby and receiving the error, “An error occurred while trying to find a session, please try again.”
We’re presuming the patch is live in the US and I can confirm that it is in the UK in the form of a quick 58MB download. But has it worked? I suppose I’ll have to disappear for a few hours later on to find out.
With the weekend almost over, many gamers will be hoping that Activision extend the Double XP weekend pre-order bonus, seeing as many players were unable to get a decent weekend’s worth of time in thanks to connection issues.
Let us know if anyone’s still having any problems with freezing or connecting to the servers, don’t forget to mention your country and what format you’re on too.
