Need for Speed: Most Wanted Unveiled at E3

EA have just announced Need for Speed: Most Wanted at their E3 press conference. Yes, we had a Most Wanted game in 2005, but this one has been developed by the Burnout team, Criterion.

Rather than rehash their last game, NFS: Hot Pursuit, this looks much closer to Burnout Paradise with an open-world approach to racing, evading cops and some aggressive takedown action. Thanks to the might of the NFS brand you’ll be smashing up official motors too as shown with a slick looking Porche 911 during the demo.

We saw a pursuit mission where you’ll be able to drive through any route you want by cutting through alleys and streets in order to evade the cops who try to set up roadblocks, perform pit manouvers or failing that, just swarm you. Think Burnout + Driver = Win Sauce.

Naturally, the Autolog system will play a large part in driving the competition between you and your online friends as players compete to become the Most Wanted, by generally driving like a loon.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted will be released October 30th in the US and November 1st in Europe on PS3 and Xbox 360.
