New locations revealed for Final Fantasy XV

With Final Fantasy XV finally committing to a 2016 release, it’s time for the hype train to step things up a gear. We’ve just had an info drop from Square Enix about some new locations that we’ll explore with Noctis and the gang. Better yet, there are a few screenshots of these new locals to enjoy.

Fist up we have Ido, an underground dungeon that looks to take advantage of the handy torches everyone carries on their shirts. Maybe the gang will start to regret them all wearing black though as it’s looking pretty dark in there. We’ve been told that there’s been no trace of human activity in there for a while. Surely there’s something nasty lurking in the shadows though. Why else would they be down there? We’re guessing it’s the lair of their latest bounty target or something similar to the Duscae demo.

Next up is Restalm, a city located in the Duscae region. We’re told that the architectural design and vibrancy of the city has been influenced by Cuba. There’s not much of that to see so far from the one screenshot of a local hotel, but it sounds like an intriguing idea that we can’t wait to explore ourselves.

Square sent us a final screenshot of The Continent, which looks like it could be set in a similar area to the Duscae demo. Players will have the option to push straight through on the highway, or get out and explore. Given that interesting looking monster on the roadside warning sign, this could be a great spot to grind some XP in the lush setting.
