FIFA 13 has broken the record for longest run in this generation’s UK charts Top 10. EA’s mega-selling footy title entered the charts at Number 1 way back in September 2012 and managed to stay in the Top 10 for a staggering 48 weeks. On Monday it slipped from 10 to 14.
The game has become the best-selling FIFA yet and we wouldn’t be surprised to see it climb back into the Top 10 again before the release of the FIFA 14 on September 17th. With over 3 million copies sold, it even sold more than the latest COD for the first time in four years.
With Game offering customers a current-gen to next-gen upgrade for a tenner when the PS4 and Xbox One come out, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the new game go on to sell even more. Unlike at the start of this generation, all the signs are pointing towards the next-gen versions of FIFA shaping up to be better than the awkward debuts on PS3 and 360. Can you wait that long, or will you be diving in first chance you get on September 27th?
Don’t forget there are demos online now for both FIFA 14 and PES 2014.
