Well, it looks like all those Paris rumours and leaks were on the money folks. Ubisoft have just officially announced Assassin’s Creed Unity for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms. The game will be out this year with a rough ‘Holiday 2014’ release date given.
Ubisoft stated: We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand! So here’s a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned – we’ll have many more exciting details for you in the months ahead!
It’s interesting to hear that development has been going on for so many years, but to be fair, Ubisoft have a huge number of teams at their disposal around the world. Assassin’s Creed Unity also has the advantage of being developed with purely next-gen in mind, which could see the development of new ideas and game mechanics not previously possible when the studios had to remind themselves they had to get the game working on the PS3 and Xbox 360 too.
With South Park already on the streets, Watch Dogs coming soon and The Division pencilled in for the end of year, Assassin’s Creed Unity could be the icing on the cake for one of Ubisoft’s best years yet.
So, here’s a quick teaser trailer for the brand new Ubisoft title, Assassin’s Creed Unity!
