UPDATE: When we asked Reef what consoles we can expect to see the game on they said they will “aim at next-gen machines.”
Reef Entertainment have been shopping and have managed to wrangle the video game rights for two of the most iconic sci-fi movies of all time, Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. They’ll be taking full advantage of this to bring Terminators: The Video Game to consoles and PC. A spokesman from Reef said:
“‘Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces. It’s an incredible opportunity and an equally huge responsibility to create a game that does great justice to the motion-pictures. We are studying all aspects and influences of the Terminator universe defined in Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. We have started on our journey and are drawing on all the diverse materials available to produce a high quality, authentic and exciting Terminator videogame.”
We’ve not had any decent Terminator games since the Mega Drive, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one. Reef are building quite the retro back catalogue at the moment, as they are also publishing a Rambo game in November. That’s a lot of fan pressure! They’ll probably be better than Colonial Marines at least.
